Agenda for Friday 10/23/09 Food Systems Assessment Task Force meeting, and literature to review

The agenda for tomorrow's meeting of the Food Systems Assessment Task Force is posted here in case you've lost it.  The agenda suggests reviewing the Chicago Food Balance Score, which essentially compares the availability of grocery stores with that of fast food restaurants.  If you have a moment, I'd suggest reviewing the papers Jill Clark mentioned in her email from September (also reposted here, and particularly the USDA compilation of food desert studies Jill mentioned, as well as the paper by Samina Raja that I had attached to the post).  I think we should be able to come up with a proposed methodology during tomorrow's meeting to engage local councils in collecting the data for analysis of food access in Ohio urban areas.

See you tomorrow, Casey
