Entrepreneurship

The book Ripples from the Zambezi by Ernesto Sirolli keeps coming to my mind with all the discussion about our economy. Northeast Ohio had a "Transforming the Region's Economy" discussion on Wedneday, December 16, 2008 followed by Thursday's headlines proclaimed "Wanted for Cleveland: Seasoned Entrepreneurs."  Sirolli talks about "indigenous growth" and the "people, not formulas, who create and run successful firms, constantly reshaping the economic landscape." It is entrepreneurship and the rebirth of local economies for the local scale.  We need to use our discussions and activities in Ohio Local Food Systems Collaborative to engage NE Ohio and the rest of Ohio in developing seasoned entrepreneurs for all of our potential Ohio enterprises including local food and other agriculture opportunities.
