Family Farm Field Day July 18, 2009 David & Emily Hreshberger farm in Fredericksburg, Ohio

The Family Farm Field Day will be July 18, 2009 at the David and Emily Hershberger farm in Fredericksburg, Ohio area. The field day is to provide an educational format for grass-based agriculture with a focus on non-industrial way of farming, low energy consumption, and promoting healthy family lifestyles. Joel Salatin from Polyface Farm will be the keynote speaker.  He will be sharing "Options for Small Acreage", "The Positives of Family Farm Among the Negatives in 2009" and "This Is What I See Coming".  The activities start at 8:30 a.m. and there are sessions for dairy graziers, small scale farmers, the homestead, natural resources, children and ongoing demonstrations.  Other presenters are Altfrid Krusenbaum, Gearld Fry, Maravin and Miriam Wengered, Charlene SToller, Karen Geiser, Josh Engbretson, Guy Denny, and Robert Hershberger.  Brochure is available at www.smallfarminstitute.org website.
