Save the Date - Statewide meeting of Local Food Policy Councils
The Center for Farmland Policy Innovation at The Ohio State University will be hosting a statewide meeting of local food policy councils on Thursday, April 26th in Columbus on the campus of Ohio State. Our guest speaker will be Mark Winne (http://www.markwinne.com/), one of the top national leaders on food policy councils and various food policy issues.
The event will be held during the day on April 26th and will include a keynote address, workshops on topics of interest to local FPCs (organizational structure/planning, funding/access to capital, effectively reaching out to elected officials to affect policy change, among others), and curbside consulting sessions with Mark. The daytime event will be followed up with a public lecture in the evening that you are also welcome to attend.
We are currently finalizing the specific campus location and full agenda, but we wanted to send out this save the date and to ask you if you plan to attend.
The estimated cost to attend the event will be $20-25 per person. The cost will help us cover boxed lunches, coffee, and parking for all attendees. You will also be provided with a complimentary copy of one of Mark's books.
We are really excited for the event and would also encourage you to share this save the date with anyone you know affiliated with local food policy councils in Ohio.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
