permaculture in the cold

hi Steve.  I look forward to talking to you again.  I've been to several lectures on permaculture that I really enjoyed.  Peter Bane is relatively close by (Indiana, I think) and did a teach-in series in Worthington last year, restoring an orchard at an orphanage.  I would love to see more such projects around the city.  4 Seasons City Farm put a fig tree into our greenhouse which produced a nice kinda little crop it's second year.  I'm told there's a larger older one in Pensylvania doing quite well.  We would also like to do many more fruit and berries in our neighborhood around Main St.  I forsee that many will eliminate their grass for food next year.  Encouraging as many people to grow and eat their own dark leafy greens has been a major goal of mine while working with 4S.  Training more people how to manage a small cold frame,, hot frame  and hoop houses would go a long way in many neighborhoods.
