Value Added Producer Grant information from Debbie Rausch

Straight from Debbie Rausch, Ohio's USDA office:

The Value Added Producer Grant announcement is out. The deadline for applications is November 30, 2009.
There is $18 million in funding available for the entire US, so competition will be tight. Grants can be either planning grants (up to $100,000) or for Working Capital Grants (up to $300,000).  There is a match requirement for the grants, the same as there has been in the past.  
Debbie says:  If you are planning to submit an application please contact her office for assistance as you work through the process and remember to have a DUNS number that corresponds to the applicant entity.  Check the USDA website http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/rbs/coops/vadg.htm for information regarding eligibility and application tools. If you are planning to submit your application electronically, you will need get registered on www.grants.gov  today!  Please don't wait, it is a multistep process that takes a couple of days. 
She will be putting together a flow chart to help with the applicaion since there are some changes with the 2008 farm bill.
